Résumé/Abstract
In recent years, international adoption has played a role in reshaping the reality of many families, particularly in industrialized countries. These families require preparation and support before, during, and after adoption. These different family pathways require that the many practitioners in the areas of perinatality and early childhood reflect on their methods of working with these families. This article presents elements for consideration and recommendations that emerged from the international adoption workshop held during the colloquium “À la rencontre des parents (Meeting Parents).” During the discussions, participants from a variety of community, hospital, and university environments emphasized the importance of support and counselling.
