Discipline: How do immigrant fathers adapt on Quebec soil?

Résumé/Abstract

This study focused on fathers originating from traditional societies in Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. Looking at perceptions of discipline, the researchers emphasize that the roles of father and child are not seen in the same way in the host country as in the country of origin. The article also addresses issues of physical correction, as well as the dissonance between the education received and that which should be provided.
